Educator/Communicator
Rhythmic Music Conservatory, Autor, etc.
A safe space with high expectations
Since 2017 I have taught and mentored singers, songwriters, composers and musicians in developing their artistic practice. At the Rhythmic Music Conservatory (RMC) I have taught and supervised students in Artistic Development Work and Music Pedagogy. For Autor, Denmark's largest association for composers and songwriters, I founded and facilitated Apollo, a community for songwriters and composers in Copenhagen, Aarhus and Svendborg, from 2022 to 2025. I have also taught singing, lyric writing and songwriting, both privately and at Rytmisk Center and Trinitatis Church, among others.
My mentoring practice is rooted in the individual's artistic identity, potential and ambitions. I always try to create open learning environments that combine safety, high expectations and room to fail and grow. As a vocal coach I work with the idea of the body as a source of information, drawing on Andrew Byrne's The Singing Athlete and on my continuing education as a sound therapist with Githa Ben-David.
In my work as a communicator and speaker, conversations about music and creative processes are among my main focal points. In the podcast Harpens Kraft I interviewed Danish songwriters about their creative practice and process. At Trinitatis Night Church I spent several years as curator and moderator of the conversations between the Night Church minister and the artists behind the music series Sjælesang. I currently host and curate Autor Morgensession, where I talk with producers, composers and songwriters about their works, methods and artistic choices. I also give talks on creative processes and on how to build a more sustainable artistic practice.
“Both in preparing and running the sessions, Marc is professional, knowledgeable, inspiring and welcoming. He manages to create a safe framework around a potentially quite sensitive process.”
“Giving each other feedback can feel vulnerable, but Marc knows how to frame the experience and offer tools and room for reflection, so that participants can look at their own work more objectively.”
